"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was out Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
