The Journey of a Phenomenon can be defined by clear stages.

1. The Grand Vision

A dominant personality or leaders present an innovative concept pledging a panacea for alienated and vulnerable people.

Thus we find ourselves. Preparations are underway to confront the system down in Brisbane. Pressure is mounting. Conflict emerges from within. 2. The Honeymoon Phase

Movement founders promise a reboot, a brighter tomorrow, love, redemption within a community with shared faith in the big idea.

What did it represent at first? A team united enjoying success. Body art. Forearms. Focus. Peak performance vibes. Admittedly, England’s players often say they don’t use the label, which is funny because if it doesn’t exist, what was that spectacle?

But we know what it is. It’s the batsman attempting a move so depraved it has to be pixelated. It’s the excitement of the leader in his final form, an expression conveying: thoughtful warrior, rugged appearance, untamed style, genuinely raw you almost imagine to glance over and notice he’s fielding at mid-off shirtless embracing nature.

It’s the opener still being allowed addressing the media, resembling a joyful figure in a waistcoat, expressing thoughts like we’re breaking down traditions. Indeed, the vibe, for a significant period, was only good energy.

3. Expansion Period

Development stage. Cohesion maintained by rote learning of key phrases. These beliefs may seem irrational to prove commitment.

Does anyone else feel? The reaction, the anger, the disappointment after the first Ashes Test defeat appears excessive, overdone. This is the core issue. It’s all cults. Bazball was a cult since the sport itself is insular. In fact, the sport in England is closed, a clique, a garden party, an insular community with two hundred years of opaque and ritualistic cult history supporting it. This has always been where entry is limited. It’s the British pastime of England, the pioneering brand. And surprisingly, the nation has its own culture, a system of unknown levels, a place that literally still has a king.

The team have been sealed up in this system since childhood. In trying to escape from it, to foster positivity, they are just repeating their upbringing, forming a new circle, a limited community, but doing it this time with 15 cool guys and a leader encouraging individuality as long as yourself is quite a lot like myself.

Stay present. Run towards the danger. Despite efforts, you remain stuck.
