Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the team access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
